New authentication applications open in September 2026. Start with 9100 at Level 2, build your experience, and advance to Level 1 Lead Auditor when you’re ready.
The Two Levels
WHAT LEVEL ARE YOU APPLYING FOR?
IAQG Resolution 176 (effective 15 June 2026) retired the decentralized AAB model. Going forward, IAQG directly controls who is authorized to audit within the ICOP Certification Scheme — one global standard, no regional variability.
LEVEL 2
Audit Team Member
Start here if you’re new to the IAQG scheme
- Third-party audit team member
- 9100 authentication required as minimum
- Can add 9110 or 9120 at same level
- Maps to the old “AA” grade
- Foundation for advancing to Level 1
LEVEL 1
Lead Auditor / Team Member
For experienced auditors ready to lead
- Third-party lead auditor / audit team leader
- Must hold Level 1 9100 to lead any AQMS audit
- Can hold Level 1 or Level 2 for 9110/9120
- Maps to the old “AEA” grade
- Requires advanced experience & training

Quality Management Systems – Aviation, Space & Defense Organizations
Required as the entry point for all IAQG Authentication. All Level 1 and Level 2 auditors must hold 9100 before adding any other standard.
9110
Quality Management Systems – Aviation Maintenance Organizations
For auditors working with MRO organisations. Requires active 9100 authentication. Your Level cannot exceed your 9100 level.
9120
Quality Management Systems – Aviation Maintenance Distributors
For auditors working with distribution organisations in the ASD supply chain. Requires active 9100 authentication. Your Level cannot exceed your 9100 level.

ISO 9001 / AQMS Auditor Training — Completed recognised QMS auditor course. Required before attending AATT.
