Transitioning ISO 9001:2026

This 4-hour workshop prepares IATF 16949-certified organizations for the four key changes introduced in ISO 9001:2026: quality culture and ethical behavior, risks and opportunities, management of change, and the enhanced clarifications in Annex A. Participants will examine how each change affects existing QMS requirements and practices, then apply what they’ve learned through a guided initial gap analysis — identifying where their current system may need to adapt and building a practical starting point for a smooth transition.

Ideal for IATF 16949 coordinators and practitioners, internal and lead auditors, QMS process owners, and representatives from key functional groups involved in the QMS.

Course Description

This 4-hour workshop provides an overview of the four main changes introduced in ISO 9001:2026 and explores their implications in the context of an IATF 16949 quality management system. The workshop will address the introduction of quality culture and ethical behavior within requirements related to leadership, awareness, and the environment for the operation of processes; the clearer separation of risks and opportunities, including distinct consideration of actions to address each; the strengthened management of change to better support the achievement of intended QMS results; and the enhanced explanatory content in Annex A, which provides additional clarification of the structure, terminology, and intent of the requirements without introducing new requirements.

Particular attention will be given to understanding what these changes mean for IATF 16949-certified organizations and how they may affect current QMS practices. After reviewing and discussing the revised requirements, participants will complete an initial gap analysis to identify potential gaps and improvement opportunities within their existing QMS. This initial assessment can serve as a practical starting point for planning a smooth and effective transition to the new ISO 9001:2026 requirements within the context of IATF 16949.
