Course Description

In this 4-day workshop, build a solid understanding of ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949:2016, including the process approach, risk-based thinking, and how they add value to your business management system. This instructor-led training also covers the principles, techniques, and application of ISO 19011, the standard for auditing management systems, to help attendees develop the skills to plan and conduct internal audits. A final examination is included at the end of the course. 

The final examination assesses the competency areas described in IATF 16949 clause 7.2.3, items 'a', 'c', and 'e'. 

Note: Successful completion of this course/exam does not qualify you to conduct third-party audits.

Prerequisites

Experience in manufacturing and/or engineering processes helps attendees better understand how to implement (apply) and audit IATF 16949 requirements.

  • Demonstrate an understanding of the process approach to auditing, including risk-based thinking 
  • Demonstrate an understanding of ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949:2016 
  • Identify linkages between IATF 16949:2016 requirements and customer-specific requirements

  • Plan and conduct audits in accordance with ISO 19011 
  • Apply the process approach and risk-based thinking during the audit 
  • Report and close out audit findings 
  • Apply interviewing techniques and communication skills during an audit simulation
