Effective Problem Solving for Practitioners – Live Virtual Workshop   

This two-day Live Virtual Workshop includes the problem-solving process (the 9 recommended steps to achieve a successful problem-solving event, similar to 8D methodology) and tools to assist organizations in developing and implementing a robust problem-solving process.  

In this workshop you will learn how to improve problem descriptions, ensure steps are not skipped, improve team member participation, improve the ability to prioritize, analyze and review concerns, and establish an effective organizational culture in problem solving. The tools include the questioning technique that establishes a method by which various teams with diverse backgrounds can determine which planning steps are necessary and will result in positive actions. A comprehensive list of problem-solving tools is described in the course outline. 

While the need for a formal problem-solving process or established methodologies in an organization may seem elementary, history has shown many organizations neglect to understand overall benefits, fall short of meeting industry and customer requirements, and/or fail to drive sustainable improvement in their products or processes (through repeat problems or defects). 

Problem solving promotes a culture where problems are viewed as opportunities and all employees are encouraged to be actively involved. Additionally, the use of problem solving is viewed as part of all employees’ jobs every day by engaging all levels of the organization, promoting activities that are more proactive than reactive.

Combining the best of online and traditional face-to-face learning, Live Virtual Workshops use web-based teleconferencing technologies to bring your team together with our experienced instructors in an interactive learning environment. Participants can use chat and “raise hand” features, speak directly to trainers, moderators, and other participants, and share their screen all in real-time. 
  • Exercises & Break-out Rooms: Throughout the session, participants will be assigned to teams and split into team breakout rooms to privately complete group activities and discussions, then return to the larger group to present. There will also be quizzes (polls) throughout to measure knowledge retention throughout the units. 
  • Digital Learning Package & Shipped Materials: Depending on the course, participants may be mailed a hardcopy of the Participant Training Book and/or receive a digital learning package complete with training handouts, case studies, digital workbooks, and a virtual platform user-guide.
